I haven't published a blog post in a while because I have been quite busy photographing some gorgeous weddings this wedding season. So I thought i'd upload some of the weddings that I have photographed over the last few months. I just love photographing weddings there is nothing more rewarding than capturing a couples biggest days of thier lives. It is not only a privlidge but an honour. I love capturing the love and connection between two people. I am looking forward to the next few weddings that I have in the next month and of course the next wedding season which starts in October for me.
I have been meaning to do another styled bridal shoot for a while now and I knew exactly what direction I wanted to go in. A "rustic" wedding in a good old Australian backdrop. I had planned for months for this shoot sourcing and making props, finding that perfect location and of course finding some gorgeous models. It is always a fun and special journey when creating a scene that you have always visioned in your mind and sharing them with you all. I sourced my props from the Mill markets and my grandparents garage, I could spend hours in there finding the perfect little gadgets to bring a little quaintness to this shoot.
I knew I wanted to work with some talented people in the wedding industry so I got in contact with some very lovely ladies who do fantastic work for brides all over the Geelong region. Here is a brief insight of Jessica, Nella and Janelle.
Jessica is a bubbly and very talented makeup artists who caters for all types of women who are after glamour makeup, fashion and of course bridal makeup.
Nella has been in the hair industry for over 7 years. She works on Shannon Avenue at a small salon and also does her own bridal creations on the weekends.
Janelle is a very popular and highly recommended celebrant who takes great pride in the part she plays making wedding days happy and as stress free as possible.
I can not thank these 3 ladies enough for their help with the photo shoot. You were all brilliant. I definitely now know why brides book you ladies your dedication and work is truly inspiring .
I also wanted to thank my gorgeous models Tessa and Anthony, I knew when I saw you both you would fit the role perfectly and you did, you guys were amazing I couldn't be happier.
I hope you all enjoy this bridal shoot of mine. I am looking forward to planning my next bridal shoot very soon. Feel free to share this blog post with your friends .
I don't even know where to start with these two beautiful people. They are not only one of my fiance' and my best friends but Adam is my web designer and is the man behind my website . I thought i'd do a little blog post not only to thank Adam for all his hard work and sleepless nights on my website, but to show everyone this very special bond between Adam and his little girl Aggie. It's just Adam and Aggie, one of the most beautiful relationship's that I have ever stumbled across. Adam lost his love Sarah a year and a half ago which left him with his precious little girl Aggie. Love isn't a word that can even describe the relationship between Adam and Aggie it truly is one of the most incredible relationships that I have ever seen, and any one who has met them would definitely agree with me on that. When ever I see them together there are smiles from cheek to cheek and giggles that would go on all afternoon. Adam I want to thank you for your hard work and also for our great friendship which Lachy and myself will cherish. You are such a remarkable father you should be so proud of yourself with raising such a gorgeous girl, you truly are an inspiration . <3
This blog post is just a little bit special to me. Meet Matilda Louise Jackson who was born on the 24th of June 2012 . Matilda's mother Jessica emailed me months before she was due asking me if I was up for the challenge of photographing the birth of her little baby girl. I was overwhelmed and super excited as photographing a birth was my number one event to photograph on my list. The months felt like years waiting for this special little girl to arrive into this world. When it came down to the last week before Jessica was due my phone didn't leave my sight checking it constantly to see if I had missed a call or text. I got the call from Joe, Jessica's partner on the Monday morning at 4am letting me know that it was time , Matilda was on her way. I got to the hospital at 4.30am just in time to witness one of the most amazing moments I have ever encountered in my life, the love, strength and focus between Jessica and Joe during her labour was truly breath taking. Matilda was born at 4.58am weighing a perfect size of 7 pound 8. Matilda was born in her amniotic sack which is very rare, it was amazing. One of the best parts of this whole experience was the look on Jess and Joe's face when they saw their little girl for the first time, so much love, happiness and relief. Jess grabbed her little girl and pulled her up to her chest where she laid in her arms so peacefully while Joe cut the umbilical cord, it was just an instant bond between the three of them. Matilda was then weighed then wrapped and cuddled by her very proud dad. I left the hospital in awe and as the sun rose that morning on my drive back home, it really did make me realise how amazing life and love is. I highly recommend having birth photographs taken the shots that I was able to capture really does show how beautiful, special and lovely it is to welcome a little baby into the world, memories that you can treasure for a life time. Jess and Joe, it was an absolute honour to be apart of something so spectacular and special. I wish you all the very best and I cannot wait to see and photograph your precious little family again. Xx
I thought i'd share with you all a snapshot of the precious moments when Matilda Louise made her grand entrance into the world yesterday morning at 4.58am. It was my first time photographing a birth and I must say it was one of the most amazing experiences that I have ever witnessed. The love, support and strength between Jess and her man Joe was so incredible to watch and capture. A big congratulations to you both again Matilda is perfect. Thank you so much for asking me to be apart of this marvelous experience, it was truly a joy and absolute honour to be there. I am looking forward to a newborn shoot with her soon.
